A leading chemicals manufacturer is seeking a dynamic Process Engineer to optimize production processes and ensure high product quality. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, relevant experience, and strong multitasking capabilities. In this role, you will also lead improvement projects, provide technical training, and ensure compliance with industry standards while contributing to the company's growth initiatives.

Job description

1. Ensure that potential safety issues related to the technician, the environment, the process, and the product are considered at all stages.

2. Perform process optimization to ensure production cost effectiveness by meeting group standard of unit consumption in both raw material and utilities.

3. Ensure efficiency of the process to meet production targets by minimizing or eliminating process downtime, analyzing processes, and compiling debottlenecking studies. Use troubleshooting tools such as Why-Why Analysis and Fishbone diagrams to identify root causes and implement effective countermeasures.

4. Ensure product quality meets group standards and continuously improve product quality to maintain market competitiveness.

5. Standardize procedures by reviewing Standard Operating Procedures regularly and eliminating operational errors.

6. Utilize EaMIC for plant equipment preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment is in good condition and operating efficiently.

7. Lead plant improvement projects by initiating proposals, managing Change (MOC), updating Project On-Line (POL), and monitoring project progress until completion.

8. Provide technical training to enhance team skills and knowledge.

9. Support stock count activities and propose improvements to enhance accuracy.

10. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards.

11. Oversee plant Carbon Footprint Management by initiating and coordinating CO2 reduction projects and reporting performance to UPC Group.

12. Provide technical support for plant Turn-around (TAR).

13. Perform other duties as assigned by superiors as necessary.

Candidate requirements:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
  • Ability to multitask and a good learning attitude.
  • Mandarin skills (oral and written) are an advantage.
