Job summary

A prominent engineering company is seeking a skilled drafter to develop 2D and 3D process drawings in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will hold a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, possess at least 3 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, and be proficient in AutoCAD. Responsibilities include creating and revising detailed engineering drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, and maintaining high-quality documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in drafting within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
• Familiarity with industry standards and practices related to process design.

Job description

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D process drawings, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams, and layout plans, using CAD software.
• Collaborate with process engineers and other disciplines to ensure design coherence and compliance with project specifications.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering feedback and project requirements.
• Maintain and organize drawing records, ensuring adherence to quality standards and documentation procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of material take-offs (MTOs) and support procurement activities with accurate design information.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
