Process and Maintenance Engineer System IC Handler and Manipulator (Include Contacting Unit)

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools, and steering systems. A fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors is upcoming. The PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia, a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan, Penang. Construction began in May 2021, with the first production series expected in 2023. This expansion aims to meet the forecasted growth in semiconductor components, supporting Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany by increasing capacity for the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. The plant will also include R&D and training facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Interface with and be responsible for all System-IC Handler and Manipulator including contacting unit.
  • Manage pre-acceptance and release of machines, including setup support, fine-tuning, sustaining, and maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance according to the plan, including calibration.
  • Analyze downtime causes and perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs; release equipment as per engineering specifications.
  • Set up new recipes and conversions for new products.
  • Localize failures on measurement boards and PCBs, and perform repairs.
  • Align equipment mechanically and electrically according to supplier specifications.
  • Adapt and extend circuit diagrams based on engineering specifications.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers regarding appointments and queries, monitor due dates, and conduct technical discussions.
  • Develop measures to reduce failures, improve quality and output, and reduce costs in collaboration with engineering.
  • Support improvement activities by contributing suggestions to enhance production KPIs such as CT/Output, Yield/OEE, and reducing failures.
  • Train operators and technicians, and execute maintenance activities as per work instructions.
  • Take responsibility for 8D processes and dispose of lots accordingly.
  • Align all changes with lead plant engineering.
  • Work within production as required.
  • Support FMEA and Control Plan development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 1-5 years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and transfer technical knowledge.
  • Skills in analyzing and repairing PCBs and equipment.
  • Mechanical, electrical, and electronic skills.
  • Knowledge of Poka-yoke concepts.
