Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Malaysia seeks a Process and Equipment Engineer (Acceleration Sensors) for full-time involvement in maintenance, testing and optimization of semiconductor testing processes at the Batu Kawan site.

You will perform machine maintenance, troubleshoot PCB and sensor equipment, and collaborate with engineering to cut downtime, improve quality, and reduce costs. Fresh graduates are welcome; a strong foundation in electrical/electronic engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or similar).

• Capable of team knowledge transfer and collaboration with engineers.
• Able to discuss technical aspects with equipment suppliers and engineering teams.
• Understand the link between quality, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance according to maintenance plan on machines and calibration tasks.
• Investigate downtime, perform mechanical, electrical and electronic repairs, certify readiness.
• Identify and repair faults on measurement boards and PCBs.
• Align equipment mechanically and electrically per supplier specs.
• Adapt circuit diagrams per engineering requirements and extend where needed.
• Coordinate with suppliers and engineering on scheduling and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with engineering to reduce failures, improve quality and output, and lower costs.
• Analyze carrier failures and perform necessary repairs and maintenance.
• Put carriers into operation according to specs and ensure modifications are approved.
• Provide 8D problem-solving and disposition of lots.
• Instruct Operators per production management directives.
• Perform duties within the production environment and support FMEA/Control Plan.
• Ensure availability of spare parts required.

In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance according to maintenance plan on machine and calibration.
• Investigate equipment downtime, carry out comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs, and certify equipment readiness according to engineering specifications.
• Identify and repair faults on measurement boards and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
• Align equipment mechanically and electrically in accordance with supplier specifications.
• Autonomous adaption and extension of circuit diagrams according to engineering specification
• Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling and addressing equipment supplier inquiries, including deadline monitoring and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop strategies for reducing failures, enhancing quality and output, and lowering costs.
• Analyze carrier failures, perform necessary repairs, and conduct carrier maintenance.
• Placing into operation of carriers according to specification.Ensure all modifications are approved and aligned with lead plant engineering.
• 8D responsibility and hold lots dispose.
• Instruction of Operators in alignment with production Mgmt.
• Perform duties within the production environment.
• Support FMEA and Control Plan.
• Guarantee the availability of necessary spare parts.
• Execute any other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications
