Job summary

Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced engineer to perform maintenance and calibration on production equipment at the Batu Kawan site. You will work within a semiconductor testing and automation environment, contributing to reliability and uptime.

The role requires a degree in Engineering and 3–5 years hands-on experience in related functions; experience with consumer electronics testing machines and sensors is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in relevant engineering functions.
• Experience in Consumer Electronics testing machines, pressure sensors and inertial sensors is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance according to the maintenance plan on machines and calibration.
• Analyze downtime reasons; repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment; release equipment per engineering specs.
• Localize failures on measurement boards and PCBs; repair boards.
• Mechanically and electrically align equipment per supplier specifications.
• Autonomously adapt and extend circuit diagrams per engineering specs.
• First contact with equipment suppliers; manage appointments and follow up on due dates with engineering discussions.
• Develop measures to reduce failures and improve quality/output while reducing costs with engineering.
• Analyze failures on carriers and their repair; maintain carriers.
• Commission carriers per specification.
• Align all changes with lead plant engineering.
• 8D responsibility and hold lots dispose.
• Instruct Operators in alignment with production Mgmt.
• Support FMEA and Control Plan.
• Ensure spare parts availability.
• Execute any other related duties assigned by supervisor.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction began in May 2021, and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

• Perform maintenance according to maintenance plan on machine and calibration.
• Analysis of downtime reasons of the equipment, mechanical, electrical and electronic repair of the equipment. Release of equipment according eng. spec.
• Localization of failures on measurement boards, PCBs and repair of boards.
• Mechanical, electrical alignment of the equipment according to supplier specification.

• First contact person regarding appointments with equipment suppliers and regarding questions of the equipment suppliers. Monitoring of due dates. Technical discussions with supplier, engineering.
• Develop measures to reduce failures, to improve quality and output and to reduce costs together with the engineering.
• Analysis of failures on carriers and their repair. Maintenance of carriers.
• Placing into operation of carriers according to specification.
• Align all changes with lead plant engineering.
• 8D responsibility and hold lots dispose.
• Instruction of Operators in alignment with production Mgmt.
• Support FMEA and Control Plan.
• Ensure spare parts availability.
• Execute any other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications
