Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Deputy Manager – Planning to be based in Malaysia

What we do

Primary Duties:

  1. Support the Planning Manager to drive forward both organisations’ key priorities for Planning through effective management of resources and by ensuring that opportunities for improving the service are maximized.
  2. Develop systems and procedures for planning functions on the onset of the project and as and when there are additional requirements from the client in order to facilitate the monitoring of construction & commissioning.
  3. Finalize the staffing requirements of planning engineers in consultation with Manager Planning.
  4. Develop, implement & maintain the planning deliverables viz., procedure construction schedules, resource histogram, reporting systems, commodity database, material controls systems, etc. Provide guidance to the project control team working at HO/site for the project.
  5. Prepare the detail progress measurement system for construction commodity and construction progress curves. This will also help in determining the resource requirement and prepare manpower histogram.
  6. Monitor progress of the construction work for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project. Progress monitoring on a regular basis and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts.
  7. Review the status continuously and keep the construction Manager appraised of the progress and the areas needing attention for schedule adherence.
  8. Provide direction to the sub-contractor planning team in formulating overall execution plan which will satisfy the interest of overall project completion.
  9. Close coordination/follow up of sub-contractor in implementing the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project.
  10. Work in close coordination with Area coordinator to ensure that the work progresses as per schedule and follow overall project priority.
  11. Participate in review meetings with client & sub-contractors.
  12. Identify trends and alert management of critical activities.
  13. Participate in department development activities for continual improvement in the planning system & services.
  14. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Planning Manager/PCM of the project.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate engineer with approximately 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry conversant with projects and execution. Experience in HO & Site planning.
