Position Overview

The application engineer is responsible for generating the new packing method/footprint/carrier tape/box designs to meet development project functional requirement specification (FRS) & excellent for manufacturing and address customers physical issues in using our packages.


What You Will Do

  1. New packing method/footprint/carrier tape/box design from identify gaps between design requirements and supplier capability timely.
  2. Identify technical risk and provide mitigation proposal at the right time with the use of proper design tools: Design FMEA, simulations.
  3. Drive for sound solutions.
  4. Owner of packing method/footprint/carrier tape/box design process.
  5. Ensure the process is effectively implemented across the whole development life cycle.
  6. Maintain the footprint/carrier tape/box design rule that correctly reflect the assembly and supplier capabilities.
  7. Address customers’ physical issues (e.g. T&R, SMT, solderability, packing, etc.) in using our packages.

What You Will Need

  1. Degree in engineering disciplines or materials science; Master degree or higher is preferred.
  2. Knowledge of IC/discrete package design.
  3. Experience in Design tools such as Simulation, Design FMEA, CAD.
  4. Design experiences of solder footprint are preferred.
  5. Creative in new ideas and solutions.
  6. Strong customer focus, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
  7. Experience in handling customer is an advantage.
  8. Good interpersonal and presentation skills in cross-site and cross functional team.
  9. Good command of written and spoken English; Putonghua is an advantage.
  10. Willing to travel on occasion.
