Role Purpose

Wood Mackenzie’s Power and Renewables research team provides integrated subscription, research and advisory services to inform and support our client’s commercial and strategic decisions in the complex and rapidly changing supply chain landscape.

Combining our deep knowledge of solar, wind, storage, conventional power and grid technologies, with our global power and fuels modelling and analytical capabilities, Wood Mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain, technology costs, policy and market issues, fundamentals-based outlooks, price forecasting, asset valuation, and commodity market issues among many other insights.

This role will serve as part of Wood Mackenzie’s Power and Renewables Supply Chain team, with a focus on being a working leader of a team of researchers in APAC delivering insights covering cost, emerging technologies, supplier, risk and a variety of other topics related to the power and renewables supply chain sector and with a particular emphasis on solar, wind and battery storage. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading team and play a key role in helping this sector navigate the changing landscape through our research, product and advisory service offerings. You will be leading a team of eight to ten people in APAC but with a global remit that will require close collaboration with many other teams. You will provide market intelligence and analysis for companies across the renewable energy value chain, including asset owners, developers, suppliers, investors and policy-makers. Through this role, you will not only help companies achieve their strategic goals; you will also have a meaningful impact on the wider energy transition.

Wood Mackenzie is a leading intelligence provider across global commodity markets. You will have access to proprietary datasets spanning the entire commodities value chain, including decades of proprietary research, in-house metals and mining teams and experts, eight trillion dollars of actual spend transactions between owners and suppliers and much, much more.

Main Responsibilities

  • Shape and deepen Wood Mackenzie’s cost modelling for P&R equipment, services and assets with an emphasis on wind, solar and battery storage – regarding both structure and content.

  • Ensure your team monitors and maintains relevant data through secondary and primary research.

  • Ensure that data quality, consistency and accuracy reflect market realities.

  • Lead and contribute to thought-leading research publications.

  • Ensure all of your team’s deliverables are executed and delivered in a timely fashion to a high standard.

  • Collaborate with internal and external renewable energy market experts globally to develop market-leading supply chain insights for the P&R sector.

  • Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker;

    • Maintain and expand strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry and clients.

    • Strengthen your own brand and the Wood Mackenzie brand by speaking at conferences and engaging with the media.

  • Present at Wood Mackenzie and industry-sponsored events, and moderate client webinars.

  • Occasionally support consulting advisory assignments.

  • Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to actively help generate new sales, build larger programs for existing clients, and effectively market completed research.

  • Product and data focus: in addition to publishing actionable insights, you will also need to ensure that data is being managed accurately and efficiently and being delivered effectively through multiple research and product client delivery channels.
