Tenby International School Setia Ecohill in Malaysia seeks a Primary Bahasa Melayu teacher to plan engaging lessons and support learners’ confidence in listening, speaking, reading and writing. This role collaborates with Primary and Secondary staff to ensure smooth transitions into the Secondary curriculum.

The school follows international IGCSE curriculum with over 800 students, offering a transformative approach to learning and strong professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Bahasa Melayu with a recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong Bahasa Melayu proficiency; knowledge of language acquisition and primary pedagogy.
• Experience teaching Bahasa Melayu to primary learners, ideally in an international or multilingual school.
• Clear communication in Bahasa Melayu and English; collaboration with families and colleagues.
• Experience supporting transition to Secondary Bahasa learning is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan coherent Bahasa Melayu lessons and progression for Primary year levels.
• Adapt texts, visuals, conversations and tasks for diverse starting points.
• Deliver motivating, well-structured lessons with feedback.
• Establish positive relationships and high participation expectations.
• Collaborate with Secondary Bahasa colleagues to support transition.
• Uphold safeguarding, inclusion and ISP policies.
