Job description

Pricing Executive

The pricing team is one of the four pillars of the Commercial Revenue office in Zalora. As the pricing team, we optimize profit and increase conversion rates with the goal of providing the best value for our customers.

The Commercial Revenue office comprises four teams - Pricing, PMO, Merchandising, and Analytics. We consider the product, customer and tech platform as constraints and aim to use all the levers at our disposal (price, campaign, search, sorting, and processes around them) to get the best possible performance (read Sales and Profit) out of them.

Description:

This role will be fully responsible for the pricing management of the Apparel and/or Non-Apparel categories, driving growth for top brands such as Adidas, Under Armour and Calvin Klein in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Philippines, and Indonesia. You will conduct in-depth analyses and develop strategic pricing actions to optimize revenue, margin, and sell-through.

As a Pricing Executive, the ideal candidate is an attentive and observant individual with a strong sense of responsibility, initiative and ownership. Due to the volatile nature of the e-commerce industry, the ideal candidate should be able to work efficiently in evolving work environments under high pressures to complete time-sensitive projects.

Strong people and communication skills are also required as the candidate will be the key contact point between the Planning and Buying departments, working closely with the Data Science, Merchandising, and Marketing teams. As an empowered team member, frequent interactions with senior leadership (eg. Chief Revenue Officer) are also to be expected.

Role Purpose:

Drive category and brand performance through data-driven pricing strategies, inventory management, and close collaboration with relevant teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze category and brand performance on a weekly basis to identify opportunities and mitigate risks, developing targeted action plans accordingly.
  • Oversee inventory risk management to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize potential losses.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize revenue, margin, and sell-through, providing data-driven insights and recommendations aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare and present pricing memos, performance reports, and actionable recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with the merchandising team to jointly manage category performance, formulate action plans, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Represent the Revenue Pricing function in inventory planning and forecasting discussions with the planning team for the assigned category.
  • Support pricing operational tasks by ensuring timely and accurate price execution, coordinating deliverables across relevant teams.
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of pricing strategies, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear and effective project communication and coordination.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing processes, driving improvements, standardization, and best practices.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in mathematics, with demonstrated ability to apply complex formulas and quantitative analysis.
  • Analytical experience within an eCommerce retailer—particularly in business or financial planning/analysis, or a buying function—is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for and experience in the fashion industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Results-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and transparently across all organizational levels.
  • Proactive, improvement-driven mindset with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Self-motivated, quick to learn, and able to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in data visualization and analytics tools such as Looker, Tableau, and Python.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and complex calculations.
