Qualifications

• Experience designing application solutions on AWS with customer-facing roles.
• Strong Java development background; .NET is a plus.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks and end-to-end app architecture.
• Solid knowledge of core AWS services (compute, storage, databases, networking, identity, security).

The Opportunity

A leading global technology solutions and services provider is seeking a Pre-Sales Solution Architect to support enterprise customers with application development and modernisation initiatives on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Working at the intersection of customers, sales and delivery, the successful candidate will translate business requirements into scalable, secure and commercially viable solution approaches. The role combines application-development expertise with cloud architecture, DevSecOps and consultative customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with sales teams and enterprise customers to understand business, application and technology requirements and translate them into clear solution concepts.
• Design and present scalable, secure, resilient and cost-effective application architectures on AWS.
• Develop technical proposals, high-level solution designs, statements of approach, effort estimates and cost models.
• Lead customer discovery sessions, technical workshops, demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Apply strong application-development knowledge, particularly Java, together with modern frontend technologies to shape practical transformation solutions.
• Incorporate DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, containerization and secure software-development principles.
• Advise customers on cloud-native patterns such as microservices, containers, serverless architectures, APIs and event-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, application and delivery specialists to develop integrated solutions and ensure effective handover into implementation.
• Maintain solution documentation and provide technical support throughout the opportunity lifecycle.

Candidate Profile

• Experience designing application solutions on AWS within a customer-facing, consulting, architecture or pre-sales environment.
• Strong application-development knowledge using Java as the primary language; .NET experience would be an additional advantage.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks and the ability to understand end-to-end application architecture.
• Sound knowledge of core AWS services across compute, storage, databases, networking, identity, security and monitoring.
• Ability to design cloud-native, scalable, secure and highly available solutions aligned with customer and business requirements.
• Practical understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment and container-based environments.
• Experience with microservices, serverless architectures and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong presentation, workshop-facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
• Relevant AWS certifications would be advantageous.
