Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Pre-Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect specializing in system infrastructure. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between sales and technical teams, providing expert guidance, and designing compelling IT solutions for clients in the Penang market. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of core system technologies and will be instrumental in driving business growth through technical pre-sales activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Consultation & Solution Design:

  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer business challenges and technical requirements.
  • Design and propose comprehensive IT solutions focusing on:

Servers:Physical and virtual server technologies, server consolidation, high availability.

Storage:SAN, NAS, object storage, data tiering, storage virtualization.

Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR):Data backup solutions, replication, recovery strategies, business continuity planning.

Virtualization:Server virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), desktop virtualization (VDI).

Operating Systems (OS):Windows Server, Linux, and their integration into enterprise environments.

  • Develop technical proposals, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Scope of Work (SOW) documents.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept (POC) sessions for prospective clients.
  • Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), and tender documents with technically sound and competitive solutions.

Sales Enablement & Support:

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for the sales team, providing training and updates on new technologies and solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings to articulate technical value propositions and address customer concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal (sales, project teams) and external (clients, vendors).

Market & Technology Awareness:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings in the IT infrastructure space.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to enhance solution positioning and identify new opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of sales collateral, case studies, and whitepapers.

Added Advantages (Good to have, but not mandatory):

  • Cloud Platforms:Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Networking:Knowledge of enterprise networking solutions, including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, and network security.
  • Cybersecurity:Understanding of cybersecurity principles, solutions (e.g., firewalls, EDR, SIEM), and best practices.
  • Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) Systems:Familiarity with ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, public address (PA) systems, and structured cabling.
