Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical solutions and guidance during the pre-sales process by identifying customer technical and business requirements, including cybersecurity needs, prior to designing a solution. The role involves consulting with technical teams about solution capabilities, security considerations, and compliance requirements, while supporting business sales teams, account managers, and partners on proposal activities.
He/She is the main key person in the project and is responsible for coordinating between internal and external stakeholders.
The candidate is to ensure project is on track, report risk, status, issues, mitigation and feasible within the budget.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work closely with customers to understand users’ requirements in providing pre-sales technical consultancy that include cybersecurity, data networking, internet, data centre solution and value-added services.
- Act as main liaison between the professional services division and sales team.
- Creating and calculating client’s costs.
- Create and deliver technical proposal and documentation that can address customer requirement and caters for high performance, scalability and high availability.
- Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs.
- Developing long term relationship with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
- Responsible for managing end-to-end RFI/RFP processes, including requirement analysis, proposal preparation, solution design, and documentation submission.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams (sales, technical, legal, finance) to ensure accurate, competitive, and timely responses aligned with customer expectations and business goals.
- Reviewed customer requirements and developed customized solutions and proposals to meet technical and commercial needs.
- Ensured compliance with tender specifications, company policies, and industry standards.
- Participated in clarification sessions, proposal defense, and post-submission negotiations with clients and stakeholders.
- Liaise and coordinate with consultant and contractors on project status, timeline and monitor project progress.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
- Assist the Manager in terms of documentations and other reporting work.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution.
Qualifications and requirements
- You must possess at least Degree in Telecommunication/Engineering/IT or equivalent
- At least 3 to 5 years of working experience
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and project management skills
- Good command of both English and Malay (written and verbal)
- A fast learner and constantly research on new technologies
- Team player with strong analytical skill and positive work attitude
- Experience in Telecommunication/Cybersecurity/System Integrator & with knowledge in project management.
- Good knowledge and hands on in network
- Good in soft skill
- Good in English and Malay.
