Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer in Johor, Malaysia to design, implement, and refine production processes with a focus on powder coating lines. The role bridges chemical engineering theory and industrial manufacturing execution, ensuring peak efficiency, quality, and safety.

You will lead process optimization, establish best practices, perform RCA and CAPA, and oversee documentation like SOPs and control plans while maintaining strict EHS standards and coordinating with QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline.
• 3+ years as Process, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineer in a production environment.
• Experience with industrial powder coating or related finishing techniques.
• Deep understanding of surface chemistry, pre-treatment methods, and material adhesion.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, run, and upgrade manufacturing systems from conception to full-scale production.
• Establish best practices and routines to boost production rates and output quality.
• Perform RCA on process deviations and implement CAPA.
• Author and maintain SOPs, PFDs, and control plans.
• Direct operations of powder coating line from pre-treatment to curing ovens.
• Audit chemical bath concentrations, temperature, and pH during pre-treatment.
• Diagnose coating defects using mechanical and chemical analysis.
• Manage process parameters, calibration schedules, and maintenance for electrostatic spray systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Oversee waste streams from coating processes and pre-treatments.
• Collaborate with QA to audit and ensure product quality.
