Job summary

Western Digital is seeking a Post Sputter Process Engineer for its Manufacturing Engineering group in Malaysia. The role focuses on developing post-sputter processes, lubrication, and tape polish, while leading NPI activities and coordinating NPI runs in the post-sputter area.

You will qualify new processes through data collection, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making, using tools like Minitab and Spotfire to drive continuous improvements and cross-site collaboration with the US

Qualifications

Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Applied Science, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with XPS, ToF-SIMS, AFM, Raman spectroscopy, and ellipsometry, with the ability to independently interpret spectra and develop film property models from raw data.

Responsibilities

Develop Post Sputter Engineering processes focusing on lubrication and tape polish.
Qualify new processes by evaluating data and interpreting results using statistical tools.
Lead NPI task forces and coordinate NPI runs in the post-sputter area.
Document processes, procedures, and best practices; support data-driven decisions with Minitab/Spotfire.
