Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years in managing plantations in the agricultural industry, with focus on pineapple, durian, rubber and/or timber.
• Strong knowledge of plantation management practices, including crop planning, cultivation techniques, pest and disease management, and harvest operations.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of farm managers and plantation staff.
• Excellent financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data, such as KPIs, to drive operational improvements and decision-making.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with sustainable agriculture practices and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and handling multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Knowledge of relevant local and national agricultural regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to farm managers, ensuring adherence to agricultural practices, protocols, and safety regulations.
• Develop and implement operational plans and strategies to optimize plantation productivity, yield, and profitability.
• Monitor and evaluate plantation performance by reviewing KPIs, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of farm managers and plantation staff.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement budgetary plans and financial forecasts.
• Monitor market trends, agricultural innovations, and technological advancements for optimization and growth.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and develop sustainable practices.
• Provide regular reports to the Executive Director on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
