Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Plantation Governance Assistant / Data Analyst to collect, process, and analyze data related to plantation operations. The role involves providing actionable insights to optimize productivity, monitor key performance indicators, and support decision-making. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, a passion for data, and an understanding of plantation or agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Collection & Management

Collect and manage data from various sources, including field reports, weather stations, drones, and IT devices.

Maintain data integrity by cleaning and validating datasets.

2. Analysis & Insights

Analyze plantation performance metrics, such as yield, soil quality, weather patterns, and labor productivity.

Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights.

Develop predictive models to forecast crop yields, pest outbreaks, or other plantation-related factors.

Create detailed reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders.

Use data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to simplify complex data for decision-makers.

4. Optimization & Recommendations

Recommend strategies to improve plantation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.

Support precision agriculture practices through data-driven insights.

Work closely with plantation managers, agronomists, and field staff to understand operational challenges and data requirements.

Coordinate with IT teams to integrate data analytics tools and systems.

6. Technology & Innovation

Explore and implement new technologies such as AI, GIS, or remote sensing for enhanced data analysis.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in plantation analytics.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in plantation, agriculture, or related industries.

Familiarity with agricultural technologies and data sources (e.g., satellite imagery, soil sensors).

Proficiency in in Excel, Google Sheets, and/or data analysis software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).Strong knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Familiarity with plantation operations, especially durian or fruit crops, is highly preferred.

Ability to work both in field and office environments.

Good communication and reporting skills (Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Willing to travel to plantation sites (Pahang) regularly.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
