Coordinate with various departments such as engineering, procurement, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
Quality Control:
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications.
Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and supervise plant staff.
Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to employees.
Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for plant employees.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop and manage the plant budget, including expenses for materials, labor, and equipment.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supply of materials.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
Maintenance and Equipment:
Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to keep equipment in good working condition.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and oversee repairs as needed.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Lead or participate in lean manufacturing initiatives or other continuous improvement projects.
We Want Someone Who:
>15 years in Manufacturing or related Mechanical field.
Must be well versed in management systems and evolve such systems to complement the requirements of a changing and expanding business.
A good working knowledge of businesses, contractual and financial matters is essential, together with a sound understanding of the business processes.
Proven track record in engineering/project/management roles with broadly based engineering knowledge and experience in manufacturing industries. Previous commercial experience desirable.
Good leadership, communication and organizational skills are required, with an ability to establish, develop and lead teams.
Must have good inter-personal skills to deal professionally with company people at all levels, and with customers, local authorities and others.
Have experience of cross-cultural aspects of working within a multi-national organization and proven ability to build relationships.
Incumbent is expected to have bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. Additional education including MBA will be desirable.
