Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial/Environmental/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of manufacturing/industrial operations experience.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership or plant management role.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in large-scale plant operations.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Knowledge of plant operations, engineering, maintenance, and production.
• Good business and financial acumen.
• Knowledge of SHE management, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work under pressure and drive organizational change.

Job description

Legend Bumimas Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead the overall operations of our waste management and recovery facility in Lahad Datu. The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing plant operations, production, engineering, maintenance, warehouse, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and operational performance to ensure the plant operates safely, efficiently, and profitably. This role will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and team development while achieving production and business objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to take a hands-on leadership role across the entire plant operation, including the effective management of material flow, warehouse activities, inventory, transportation, fleet coordination, and logistics supporting the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall day-to-day operations of the plant
• Ensure production targets, operational KPIs, and business objectives are achieved
• Monitor plant efficiency, productivity, and operational performance
• Develop strategies to improve operational reliability and reduce downtime
• Oversee production planning and execution to meet customer and business requirements
• Optimize plant processes to maximize productivity and operational efficiency
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability

About you

• Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial / Environmental / Manufacturing Engineering / Operations Management or related discipline
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, waste management, palm oil, petrochemical, or heavy industries
• Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership or plant management role
• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing large-scale plant operations
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Extensive knowledge of plant operations, engineering, maintenance, and production
• Good business and financial acumen
• Strong knowledge of SHE management, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
