A leading company in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector is seeking a Plant Initiative Engineer to manage and execute plant initiatives. This role requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree, with significant experience in a manufacturing environment, driving safety and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of working experience in manufacturing (preferably FMCG) / project management.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Experience in driving discussions using facts and data.

Job description

Position Summary

Plant Initiative Engineer isresponsible for the initiation and implementation of plant initiatives and projects; being a key contributor to coordinate all products, material, and project related activities for the plant. He/She needs to ensure fast execution in innovation projects, cost saving initiatives and creating short/long term action plans through collaboration with Product Development, Technology and Sourcing team.

Working Location: Vinda SEA HQ (Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, next to Setia Alam)

You will play an important role to:

1) Becoming role model for Safety.

2) To keep all safety and health, technical, economic, environmental, and legal norms during complete project.

3) To execute project work activities according to the Quality & Environmental Management System and Safety & Health regulations e.g., firefighting routines and hygiene guidelines.

4) To secure right of knowledge transfer to the organization in relationship with the project / initiative.

5) To responsible ensuring standards (machine handbook) are up to date, work with Process Engineer to update standards for new line, equipment, and material. Tracking standard which links to FWOC as material usage and consumption.

6) To responsible for machine FWOC, perform necessary audit on material usage / consumption and prioritize analysis on machine financial waste.

7) To identify and make available new technology improvements and perform technology benchmark between production lines, teams, and other plants.

8) To participate in Daily Operation Meeting (DOM) & WOM whenever necessary.

9) To support Business Unit members and Technical team on improvements when there are Technology / Process / Quality issues.

10) Actively participate in material rationalization & innovation and join monthly initiative meeting with accurate information based on data/facts.

11) To ensure effective communication across departments in projects / initiative.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of working experience in manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG) / project management
  • Good Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (communication to both levels, shop floor and top management)
  • Knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Knowledge and experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) & Enterprise Resource Plan (ERP) system is a plus
  • Thinks logically and use facts and data to drive efficient discussions
  • Listens to feedback and act on it
