Job description

Our client is looking for a seasoned and proactive Plant HR Manager to lead the HR function at the manufacturing facility. This role is critical in aligning HR strategies with plant operations, ensuring compliance, managing industrial relations, and fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HR operations, IR matters and talent acquisition.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee daily HR operations including attendance, leave, and employee records.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage disciplinary actions, grievances, and employee relations cases.

Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Serve as the primary contact for union and employee representatives.
  • Handle collective agreements, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  • Maintain a harmonious working environment and proactively address IR issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of IR matters to management.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead recruitment efforts for plant roles, including technical and operational positions.
  • Drive campus hiring initiatives and build relationships with academic institutions.
  • Collaborate with external agencies when necessary, while optimizing internal sourcing strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key HR contact for plant leadership and employees.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and unions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Proven experience in handling industrial relations and union matters.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in employer branding and campus hiring is an advantage.
