Job description

As a Planner Team Lead, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling the materials and production required to execute the business. You will take a coordinating lead, working closely with internal and external parties to ensure the supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements for on-time delivery. You should be able to deliver efficient, effective, and flexible solutions to meet production needs.

Job Responsibilities/tasks/duties:

Strategy and Development

- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice MP&L vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance.

General and Task Management

  • Supervise requirements planning for the department, division, project, or organization.
  • Provide monthly, weekly, and daily production schedules to ensure products are made efficiently and on time.
  • Coordinate production operations with the needs for materials, labor, and finished products.
  • Monitor the progress of daily production operations and resolve issues.
  • Lead and encourage employees to meet production goals.
  • Report on production status and issues to upper management.
  • Identify ways to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Use market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate production changes.

- Ensure material scheduling strategies and processes are effective to meet production requirements with minimal stock levels and optimized costs.

- Take ownership of material and production planning, including managing over or under delivery and follow-up actions, especially during shortages.

- Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.

- Seek and recommend solutions to overcome operational issues and risks.

- Design and implement flexible solutions to improve business efficiency and process improvements.

- Apply professional and consistent materials planning processes across the business.

- Investigate and implement system enhancements.

- Manage obsolete parts process to minimize liabilities and waste.

- Provide strategic and operational reports and metrics as needed.

- Report on achievement of targets and implement corrective actions.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, technical office, design, or related roles.
  • Responsible and organized with follow-up capabilities.
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and present data for reports.
  • Problem-solving skills with suppliers and within the plant.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Experience in delivering results through cross-functional teamwork.
