Defines project objectives in terms of duration and resources. Pilots the project status to ensure forecast reliability and may serve as the single point of accountability for all planning and scheduling activities on a project.
Job Description
- Develops a schedule compliant with the selected execution strategy.
- Plans to mitigate risks and reduce costs.
- Defines and optimizes necessary resources (E-P-C-I).
- Establishes the planning and scheduling system (methods, procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc.).
- Collaborates with Management, Proposal Manager, and Estimation Department to define a realistic and feasible contract duration for execution.
- Defines the project breakdown structures.
- Supports client approval processes for schedule baseline, progress claims, or milestone achievements.
- Increases project team awareness of milestones, main durations, and critical paths.
- Monitors and controls project status to detect delays and proposes corrective actions.
- Estimates delays related to changes and claims; prepares extension of time analysis in case of client-caused delays.
- Provides project feedback and lessons learned to improve planning and scheduling methods and contribute to departmental statistics.
- Serves as a technical referee and manages the planning and scheduling team (if any), mainly on small to medium-sized projects.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent diploma.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in project execution.
- Proficient in scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera).
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Good knowledge of EPCI work processes and sequences.
- Basic understanding of the Global Business Process Management System (GBPMS).
- Ability to identify deviations from standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to present data and facts clearly and consistently.
- Thorough understanding of project delivery processes and principles.
- Good understanding of business principles in the Oil & Gas industry.
