Planning Manager (Plastic Injection Moulding/ Manufacturing)

As a Planning Manager (Plastic Injection Molding), you will play a crucial role in the team, responsible for managing the processes for the company's plastic injection molding operations.

Work location: Larkin

Work schedule: 5 days a week - Promoting work-life balance

What you'll be doing
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on forecasts, orders, and capacity.
  • Optimize machine utilization, manpower, and resources to ensure efficient production and minimal lead times.
  • Adjust schedules as needed due to changes in demand, material availability, or equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to forecast material needs based on production plans.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing holding costs.
  • Track material usage, address shortages/excesses, and support inventory audits.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation and schedule preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Communicate production plans with relevant teams (Production, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics).
  • Align with departments to manage customer expectations, material flow, quality concerns, and timely shipments.
  • Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, output, machine utilization, and material consumption.
  • Use and maintain ERP/MRP systems for planning and inventory management.
  • Lead and mentor planning team members, delegate tasks, and promote a collaborative work environment.
What we're looking for

Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment, specifically within plastic injection moulding.
