Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking an operations planner to develop and maintain production and operational plans. This role involves demand forecasting, capacity planning, and data analysis to enhance efficiency. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and has 2–4 years of experience in similar fields, with strong data analysis skills in Excel and Power BI. Job description

Develop, update, and maintain production and operations plans to meet customer and business requirements.

Perform demand forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation to drive operational efficiency.

Collect, organize, and analyze operational data; create dashboards, charts, and pivot tables for reporting.

Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, utilization, on-time delivery, cycle time, and productivity.

Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.

Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process reviews to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.

Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.

Enhance planning accuracy, reporting quality, and decision-making through data-driven insights.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience in operations/production planning or supply chain planning, preferably within manufacturing.

Strong data analysis and reporting skills using Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas), Power BI, or equivalent tools.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Willing to provide weekend support when necessary.

Flexible to support planning team members’ tasks when required.

Strong presentation skills are an added advantage.
