Reporting To: Regional Chief Executive Officer (RCEO)/ CEO/ Operation Manager
Position Summary:
- Provide practical and advisory physiotherapy services for patients and all medical, nursing, and allied health staff involved in their care.
- Initiate appropriate physiotherapy intervention programs for referred patients.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the Physiotherapy Department.
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate physiotherapy staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Department to deliver comprehensive services to inpatients and outpatients, utilizing available resources effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians and medical professionals to provide effective physiotherapy treatments.
- Assess and evaluate disabilities caused by neurological disorders, stroke, diseases, or injuries.
- Treat conditions and educate patients on their effects on function.
- Update staff and carers on safe patient handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic records in line with professional standards.
- Oversee equipment used in treatments, ensuring maintenance and calibration.
- Keep patient records and documents up to date.
- Stay informed on advances in physiotherapy and implement relevant innovations.
- Manage and develop staff effectively.
- Prepare and oversee the department budget.
- Advise patients on managing their conditions independently and preventing complications.
- Establish and uphold departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Plan and execute community fitness programs, if applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Physical Therapy from a recognized university.
- Completion of mandatory clinical internship and legislative compliance to practice in Malaysia.
- Membership in the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association.
- Participation in specialized physiotherapy courses.
- Minimum of five years' experience, including at least two years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written.
