Job summary

A healthcare provider in Miri, Malaysia is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to manage prescriptions, dispense drugs, and adhere to healthcare regulations. Responsibilities

  • Screen incoming prescriptions (Inpatient and Outpatient).
  • Fill prescriptions according to provided directions.
  • Counter-check prepared drugs against prescriptions.
  • Dispense drugs to patients and provide necessary instructions.
  • Send all prepared or take-away drugs to wards.
  • Compound lotions, mixtures, and prepare dilutions for stock and extemporaneous use.
  • Repack bulk drugs into suitable dispensing units.
  • Indent for drugs, containers, and labels as needed.
  • Assist in stock-taking activities.
  • Assist pharmacists in ward checks.
  • Reconstitute cytotoxic drugs.
  • Adhere to all Acts, Laws, Rules, and Regulations governing pharmacy services.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge and Pharmacist.
  • Follow Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994, including safety measures and use of protective equipment.
  • Participate actively in new services introduced by the department.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Hospital Accreditation, and other quality standards, maintaining proper records.
  • Address policies on patient and family rights at all times.
  • Follow patient safety goals as recommended by the World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
  • Adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).
  • Participate actively in 5S activities.
