Job description

Review and dispense prescriptions accurately according to doctors’ orders.

Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications.

Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage.

Monitor patient medication therapies for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.

Manage the procurement, storage, and stock rotation of pharmaceuticals.

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.

Dispose of expired or damaged medications according to MOH guidelines.

Provide drug information to medical staff and patients when required.

Ensure compliance with laws and regulations set by the MOH and Pharmacy Board Malaysia.

Maintain accurate records of controlled drugs, prescriptions, and stock movement.

Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.

Maintain proper documentation and patient records in the hospital system.

Supervise and train pharmacy assistants and interns.

Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) programs.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from a recognized institution.

Registered Pharmacist with the Malaysian Pharmacy Board.

At least 1–2 years of working experience in a hospital or clinical setting (fresh graduates may be considered in some hospitals).

Experience with hospital pharmacy systems (e.g., electronic medical records, inventory software) is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
