Job summary

NextLabs Inc. is seeking a talented Performance Test Engineer to design performance test architecture, plans, and benchmarks for cloud and on-premises products. You will build scalable scripts and execute various performance tests, collaborating with engineering to optimize system performance.

The role requires a strong background in enterprise software performance testing, scripting, and tools like JMeter and HP LoadRunner, with excellent analytical and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in performance testing or engineering of enterprise software.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, including databases, networks, servers and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing test plans that simulate real-world usage patterns for various performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Design performance test architecture, strategy and test plans for cloud and on-premises applications.
• Build workload models that simulate load scenarios.
• Create scalable, portable, configurable test scripts.
• Execute load, stress, volume, endurance, spike, break point, and concurrent testing.
• Perform performance compatibility testing on cloud and on-premise platforms.
• Analyze performance metrics (response time, throughput, resource utilization, error rates).
• Compare performance with different resource levels (memory, CPU, disk, network).
• Build benchmarks for components and applications.
• Collaborate with Engineering to develop capacity planning guidelines.
• Profile performance across the software stack to identify bottlenecks.
• Work with teams to address issues and optimize product performance.
