About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR generalist as our People Manager. In this role, you’ll be a key driver in shaping and executing People strategies while also ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the employee lifecycle. From talent acquisition and onboarding to employee engagement and culture-building, you will wear multiple hats and collaborate closely with functions across the organisation. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about people, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and is excited to roll up their sleeves to build scalable people practices.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage core HR functions including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation & benefits, employee relations, compliance, learning & development, and HR operations
  • Partner closely with leadership to shape and implement People strategies that align with business goals, and support team growth and engagement
  • Champion a high-performance culture by designing and executing employee engagement programs, development pathways, and feedback systems
  • Develop, update, and ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with the latest Employment Act and are clearly communicated across the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvements in HR processes and systems to enhance efficiency, scalability, and the overall employee experience
  • Provide data-driven insights and HR reporting to inform strategic decision-making
  • Oversee HR budgeting and ensure resources are optimally allocated to support people initiatives
  • Support the company’s culture-building efforts through initiatives that foster inclusion, collaboration, and a positive work environment
  • Embody an innovative and growth mindset by staying up to date with the latest HR trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance HR strategies and employee experience

The ideal candidate

  • Has at least 6 years of progressive experience in HR, with exposure to both strategic and operational roles
  • Holds a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, evolving startup or high-growth environment
  • A people-centric individual with strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate clearly, confidently, and persuasively across all levels of the organisation
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with a young, diverse workforce and passionate about creating a workplace that attracts and retains top talent
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and tech-savvy with HR systems and tools
