Job summary

Prudential Services Asia is seeking an experienced IFRS17 professional to oversee planning, budgeting and forecasting. The role requires strong actuarial experience (8+ years) in Life/Takaful, proficiency in Prophet and Excel, and the ability to lead local IFRS17 initiatives.

You will provide technical guidance to the actuarial team, collaborate with group offices, and support related projects while ensuring SOPs are documented. English proficiency is essential for day-to-day activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience in Life/Takaful industries (minimum of 8 years).
• Good progress on actuarial exams.
• Proficient in using Prophet and Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient in English.
• Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IFRS17 planning, budgeting and forecasting work within the agreed timeline.
• Review and optimize budgeting and forecasting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform IFRS17 financial impact assessments for annual assumption reviews and expense studies.
• Provide day-to-day technical and managerial guidance to the actuarial workstream.
• Lead local IFRS17 solution enhancements and model development with group office and local teams.
• Support actuarial components for projects like BNM Insurance and Takaful System Redevelopment (ITSR).
• Ensure proper SOP documentation and train junior team members.

IFRS17 Reporting:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the following IFRS17 tasks:

• To perform and able to explain the key drivers for IFRS17 Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting work within the agreed timeline.
• To review and optimize the Budgeting and Forecasting process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Strengthen control to prevent process reruns.
• To perform IFRS17 financial impact assessment for annual assumption review, expense study and etc.
• To ensure IFRS17 Reports are produced with accurate results and to provide day-to day technical and managerial guidance to the Actuarial workstream.
• To lead the local implementation of IFRS17 solution enhancements/Day 2 items and actuarial model enhancement, collaborating with group office and local actuarial modelling team.
• To support on other projects e.g. actuarial related components for BNM Insurance and Takaful System Redevelopment (ITSR) and etc.
• To ensure proper SOP documentation.
• To build the capacity and experience of the team through training of junior team members.
