As the Payroll Specialist China, you will be accountable for the execution of the end-to-end payroll activities, which includes processing China monthly payroll (salary and statutory payments), verifying payroll administration activities against statutory directives/company policies and performing financial controls. More specifically, your role will include: Accountable for payroll processing in China ensuring on time processing of the scheduled payroll runs, handling payroll reconciliation processes, monitoring posting to finance, executing year-end and year-begin activities, transferring payroll funds, and performing regulatory reporting. Responsible for the execution of Financial and Internal controls that assure Shell Payroll’s ongoing compliance in an increasingly complex statutory and regulatory landscape. Responsible to monitor China statutory and legislative changes and work with stakeholders across Policy, Tax, Legal, IT, Finance and HR Team for timely implementation in Shell’s payroll landscape. Participate in Payroll Accounting Finance Backlog sessions and follow-up action items to ensure outstanding open items are managed in the financial books. Participate in Global, Regional and Local project implementations/system upgrades, providing payroll expertise and communicating with key stakeholders on a variety of compensation related issues including leading continuous improvement solutions. Responsible for analysis and timely response of complex payroll employee queries via Salesforce case utilizing China payroll, policy and legislation knowledge. Responsible for ensuring compliance to Group Records Management retention protocol, preparation of Audit reference documents and response to various internal and external audit requests.
