The Payroll & Local Delivery Senior Specialist is accountable for the payroll processing and local administration activities for various entities. This role is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed according to schedule and aligns with local tax and statutory requirements. This role requires close collaboration with Country HR to ensure any legal, fiscal, and regulatory changes or implementations are managed accordingly.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage third-party payroll vendor and act as a liaison in resolution of payroll problems between vendor and BP.
  • Provide operational support and inputs to local country teams such as Reward and Tax on any new updates to employee compensation and benefits, ensuring proper governance and change control.
  • Responsible for employee communication regarding updates in relation to payroll and local statutory matters, including drafting communication notes and obtaining approval from Head of Country HR and the Communication team before dissemination.
  • Ensure the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) around the payroll process is constantly reviewed, updated, and tested for readiness.
  • Conduct annual tax reviews to ensure existing compensations are correctly mapped for tax reporting.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for internal controls and audits.
  • Ensure proper governmental reporting and compliance.
  • Assist in planning and overseeing the daily activities of the team.
  • Promote collaboration and accountability to meet team goals.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and provide guidance to team members on day-to-day operations.
  • Identify, analyze, and improve existing processes by recommending and implementing innovative and logical solutions.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in HR management, accountancy, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in payroll, service desk, and HR compliance roles.
  • Approximately 2 years of working experience in an HR Shared Service, HR Operations, or Global Business Service environment preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal, fiscal, and regulatory principles of the local countries.
  • The ability to articulate issues to partners and provide solutions.
  • Experience with case management systems, especially in Salesforce, Workday, or SAP, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with complex environments and the ability to be agile.
