Job summary

GAC Motor by WTCA in Malaysia is seeking a Parts Localization Executive - Procurement to drive localization and supplier development for new automotive projects. You will perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and lead negotiations to achieve annual cost reductions while aligning with quality standards and technical specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in automotive PROCUREMENT, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Auto parts manufacturing knowledge is critical.
• Proficiency in cost analysis tools (e.g., Should-Cost Modeling), SAP, and MS Excel.
• Understanding of automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
• Strong negotiation, emotional intelligence, leadership, and cross-cultural communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Localization & supplier development: Identify and nominate local suppliers with cost advantages to promote localization and reduce dependency on international supply chains.
• Cost Analysis & Benchmarking: Conduct cost structure analysis and industry benchmarking for competitive pricing and savings.
• Supplier Negotiation & Risk Management: Lead price negotiations and perform risk assessments with mitigation strategies.
• Market Dynamics Monitoring: Monitor forex fluctuations, commodity trends, and market shifts to maintain pricing accuracy.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise between brand principals and suppliers to align specifications, quality standards, and terms.
• Innovation in Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost-saving strategies, including process improvements and value engineering.
