Our Malaysia subsidiary, Sigma Water Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (SWEM) is based in Puchong, Selangor and has a dynamic team of 160+ employees. SWEM is an industrial water and wastewater treatment company with long success in delivering water treatment solutions in Southeast Asia across multiple applications and segments.

Role Overview

The Paralegal will be an integral member of the Gradiant Group Legal and Compliance Team (“Group Legal Team”) and will be expected to contribute to Group Legal Team’s provision of global legal support to the Gradiant Group of Companies (the “Group”) in all aspects of the Group’s operations, financial transactions, and investor relations. The current role of the Paralegal is to provide legal support primarily in Malaysia, but also across Southeast Asia. The Paralegal will also expected to support with compliance efforts, and to work with external parties to ensure Gradiant is in compliance with all certification and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities:

Provide legal support as a business partner to various departments.

Implement and monitor corporate compliance measures (licenses, 3rd party risk, etc.).

General commercial transactions (e.g. sales contracts, service agreements)

Project and procurement contracts

Subsidiary governance

Lease/property matters

Disputes and litigation

Employment and safety

Manage litigation/disputes as needed.

Assist with legal admin tasks.

Issue Purchase Requisitions in SAP, coordinate invoice/payment follow-ups with external counsel/third-party providers.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution

3–5 years of relevant working experience

Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English (for contract review and communication)

Proficiency in Chinese dialects is an added advantage, but not mandatory

Experience with SAP is an advantage, but not mandatory

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Willingness to travel occasionally
