Job Overview
This role reports directly to Marco's Chief Corporate Officer and involves assisting with various legal requirements, providing professional expertise, and supporting the company’s business growth. The candidate will work extensively with the company's external legal advisor and lawyers to ensure compliance. This role is expected to develop into a Senior Paralegal position within 12-18 months, based on the candidate's growth and achievements.

The responsibilities include supporting the legal department, working with external legal advisors, and ensuring compliance in corporate structure and business transactions.

Key duties include:

  • Drafting and reviewing agreements with customers, vendors, partners, and independent contractors, including platform agreements such as terms of use and privacy policy.
  • Researching regulatory and statutory requirements related to corporate legal structures, including shareholder responsibilities and subsidiary setup in various jurisdictions.
  • Reviewing legal documents in business communications, technology setup, and HR operations.

Requirements

  • A good law degree from a reputable university or a legal diploma.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • English and Mandarin language skills are ESSENTIAL for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Experience in employment law, financial transactions, and privacy law is ESSENTIAL.
