Job description

The Paralegal of the Sports Legal Services, Disciplinary & Integrity Unit (the Unit) performs administrative and paralegal tasks in connection with the Unit's activities.

Organizational Relationships

  • The Paralegal reports to the designated Senior Legal Counsel as well as to the Head of Unit and the General Counsel & Director of Legal Affairs as necessary.
  • Where applicable, the Paralegal will also undertake tasks delegated by and under the supervision of other members of the Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Paralegal's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Handling day-to-day administrative and operational matters, including dealing with incoming/outgoing calls and correspondence.
  • Monitoring deadlines and follow-ups.
  • Drafting and reviewing correspondence/legal documents to ensure that they are in the proper format in accordance with the agreed templates.
  • Organizing and managing documents, correspondence, and records.
  • Maintaining an organized filing system for smooth data retrieval.
  • Organizing/coordinating meetings of the AFC judicial bodies and committees and preparing correspondence/agendas/minutes in connection with such meetings.
  • Checking the eligibility of players and officials for AFC competitions.
  • Following up on monies owed.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills Required

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree holder in relevant fields (legal, administrative and/or secretarial).
  • Professional experience as a paralegal or similar role, preferably in an international organization and/or law firm.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software.
  • Teamwork-oriented, highly organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Able and willing to work outside of office hours and on weekends if required.
