Job Description

We are looking for someone who can independently lead meaningful programs and guide teams that will impact the production of the palm that goes into making our leading brands, loved by consumers around the world.

In this role, you will deliver P&G Palm Sustainability Programs in Malaysia, including its Ambition 2030, Forest Commodity Policy, and Partnerships. You will work with our Centre for Sustainable Smallholders (CSS) based in the Asia School of Business (ASB) in Kuala Lumpur, palm growers including large plantation companies, smallholders, and other partners to create a more sustainable supply of palm.

You are expected to travel across Malaysia; you will be based in our headquarters in Petaling Jaya and also work from the Johor CSS office.

Team and Collaboration

This role reports to the Global Sustainability Palm Oil Lead and involves close collaboration with multifunctional teams in CSS, ASB, and palm growers. We have a dynamic, encouraging, and respectful work environment, and you will receive continuous coaching to help you succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  1. Be the single point of contact for P&G Independent Smallholders Program in Johor, liaising with the ASB and CSS to drive livelihood improvements as part of P&G Ambition 2030.
  2. Develop and lead other smallholders’ sustainability programs in Malaysia in conjunction with plantation companies to promote sustainable palm oil production.
  3. Serve as P&G’s primary contact with Malaysian local and national government relations.
  4. Develop and lead the jurisdictional landscape program in Johor with key partners including local government, civil societies, academia, plantation companies, traders/processors, and users.
  5. Work with palm growers, processors, and traders to implement P&G’s Forest Commodity Policy.
  6. Become an expert in palm oil GHG emissions and collaborate with P&G’s supply chain to reduce its environmental footprint.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the agricultural sector related to environmental sustainability, crop/plantation management, or agronomy is desirable.
  • Flexibility to travel across Malaysia is required.
  • Interest in sustainability topics.
  • Deep knowledge of the palm industry in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malay (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Strong team orientation, “can-do” attitude, and ability to deliver breakthrough results.
