Job Summary:

The Outdoor Education Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the planning, scheduling, and administration of outdoor education across the school. This position ensures that outdoor education is effectively integrated into the school calendar and co-curricular programming through strong logistical coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves oversight of coach scheduling, equipment procurement, onboarding of external providers, shared space management, and multi-department liaison. The Outdoor Education Coordinator also provides key administrative and tracking support for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, ensuring smooth communication between participants, leaders, and school systems.

The role reports to Head of Outdoor Education through Outdoor Education Specialist.

Requirements:

  • Minimum diploma holder or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working in a school or educational environment
  • Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and risk assessment processes
  • Background in outdoor education student program coordination, or the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word); familiarity with iSAMS and award platforms like DofE is an advantage
  • Experience managing timetables, rotas, or project schedules
  • Ability to handle complex data accurately, securely, and efficiently
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience working with or coordinating school-based programs or student-facing systems is desirable
  • Pleasant disposition with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail, particularly when working with student data, schedules, and compliance information
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as a good team player with positive attitude
  • Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and take initiative in identifying and solving problems
