Job summary

EssilorLuxottica in Malaysia is hiring an Optometrist for our leading retail stores. You will provide professional consultations, perform routine eye inspections, and assist customers in selecting glasses or contact lenses based on prescriptions.

The role requires accurate refraction skills, the ability to meet monthly sales targets, and advising on eyewear styles while promoting eye health. Eligible fresh graduates may apply; registration with the Malaysia Optical Council is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Optometry or equivalent.
• Registered with the Malaysia Optical Council.
• Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia.
• Fresh graduates welcome; work experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

Help customers with fitting glasses or contact lenses, after obtaining prescriptions from optometrists.

To solve customers' complaints wisely.

Advise customers on the styles and characteristics of eyewear to best suit their needs.

Perform thorough routine eye inspections.

Identify the patient’s visual alertness, field of vision, and hand-eye coordination.

Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness and color blindness.

Prescribe corrective lenses and medications.

Promote eye health by teaching customers about proper eye care techniques.

Job Requirements

Candidates must possess at least a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, bachelor's degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Optometry or equivalent.

Optometrists/Opticians must be registered with the Malaysia Optical Council.

Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia.

Having work experience is a great advantage.
