Cardinal Health in Malaysia is seeking an Operator 1, Production Operations to support replenishment center activities. You will drive a forklift to pick products, assist with battery maintenance for forklifts and ensure on-time delivery to distribution centers domestically and internationally.

You'll spend time charging, cleaning, and maintaining batteries, while following safety policies and standard operating procedures to maintain quality and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Prepares products for shipping by loading batches into shrink-wrapping machinery.
  • Recharges forklift batteries and maintains battery water levels as needed.
  • Delivers batches to the loading dock and handles international order requirements.
  • Performs routine checks of machinery and PPE to ensure safety compliance.

What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment. Production Operation operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Job Summary

The Operator 1, Production Operations works primarily as a Picker in a replenishment center and has additional responsibilities for the maintenance of batteries for forklifts. The Operator 1 drives a forklift to pick products and prepare them for delivery to distribution centers domestically and internationally. About one-fifth of the job’s time is spent recharging, cleaning, and maintaining batteries used in the forklifts. In completing both picking and battery maintenance duties, the Operator 1 contributes to the efficient and quality operations of the replenishment center and the on‑time delivery of products to distribution centers.

Responsibilities
  • Operates a sit‑down forklift or stock picker, reads batch orders and directions from labels to navigate to the correct locations in the warehouse and pick products.
  • Checks order to ensure that appropriate quantity of product is picked and to minimize shipping variances.
  • Prepares products for shipping by loading batches into shrink‑wrapping machinery, according to correct specifications for the product.
  • Ensures that shrink wrap is applied correctly and that the product will be safe for shipping.
  • Recharges batteries used in forklifts and drives forklifts to appropriate location in battery maintenance area and fills forklift battery water cells, using water hose.
  • Marks each batch with the appropriate door and delivery destination, following information on the label, and delivers the batch to the loading dock.
  • In cases of international orders, ensures that any unique addressing and packaging requirements are fulfilled.
  • Completes routine checks of machinery and personal protective equipment to ensure compliance with safety policies.
