Job description

Purpose of the position

  • To operate and maintain all the on-site facilities in safe, efficient and reliable condition.
  • Support the site operates safely, without harming people and the environment, at required reliability with minimum cost of ownership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of assets, work processes and people capabilities to maximize business profitability.

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide visible leadership and promote a zero incident culture
  • Training of operations technicians
  • Promote a culture of openness, willingness to contribute, mutual learning, continuous improvement and innovation across functions/organization boundaries to achieve competitive advantage in the market
  • Foster/drive collaboration across functions and organisation boundaries

Functional Responsibilities

Operations

1) General:

  • Perform plant start-ups
  • Perform local plant operations (as stand-in for site operations technician)
  • Support implementation of the corrective actions from audits, root cause analysis, alerts & directives
  • Support the use of adequate means (eg. PPE, hand tools, software, instructions etc.) to perform safely and effectively.

2) Safety:

  • Support training/instruction to everyone at the site (including internal & external visitors/contractors) with respect to hazards & safe behavior.
  • Support investigation of any safety incidents, root cause analysis and implementation of the corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support development and maintenance of emergency response plans.
  • Support continuous proactive identification of risks (eg. Site walks, tool box meetings).
  • Identify risks and support elimination or mitigation.
  • To ensure compliance and observance to key national and local legislative requirements of all production sites.

3) Reliability

  • Support the definition and implementation of improvements

4) Efficiency

  • Support optimization of the use of existing assets to meet customers demand and to maximise profit
  • Support the optimization of the utilization of tonnage contracts

5) Quality

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of quality assurance systems to monitor the quality of products and services
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of processes to address off-spec quality and any failure of monitoring system.

6) Maintenance

  • Support development of turnaround scope
  • Order services and supplies that are aligned to harmonization and bundling
  • Executive preventive and corrective maintenance in his domain using maintenance planning tools (eg SAP PM)
  • Coordinate maintenance activities

7) Projects/Modification

  • Propose project to add/modify assets to meet market demand in the most profitable way and ensure that the intended results are delivered
  • Support gathering of operational data & requirements (eg. Ambient conditions, utility
  • availability, customer consumption & demand pattern, staffing, local scope & associated cost etc) for new projects
  • Execute local project scope

8) Trouble Shooting

  • Implement contingencies to repond to any unplanned breakdown/incident.
  • Support root cause failure analysis for every incident and implementation of learnings

9) Reporting/ Performance management

  • all hazards, incidents and near misses
  • corrective action from audits, directives, alerts etc.
  • programs and initiatives implementation status (eg. Global, regional etc.)
  • reliability events (supply failures)
  • Daily production & utility consumption
  • Inventory stock count
  • Plant /site performance and identification of gaps

Required qualifications/experience

  • Bachelors/Masters in Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in similar field.
