Exciting Opportunity: Operations Manager for an Industry-Leading Specialist in Precious Metals Recycling and Catalytic Converter Recycling in Pekan Nenas, Johor!
Join our dynamic and innovative team in precious metals recycling and catalytic converter recycling at a leading company based in Johor. We are looking for a dedicated and talented Operations Manager to contribute to our mission of recycling and reclaiming the hidden value in scraps.
Responsibilities :
- Set up, oversee, and manage the day-to-day operations of all local business functions.
- Develop all operational processes and policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Review the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA report) and implement the following:
- Workplace Health & Safety, including first aid,
- Safety drills,
Security management of the factory.
Prepare a financial forecast and budgeting projection on the operational expenditure of the plant.
Coordinate with external consultants on licensing applications and manage licenses, including local governmental relationships required for the company’s operation.
Attend to local authorities’ inspections (e.g., DOE, DOSH, BOMBA, etc.).
Drive initiatives to develop Malaysia’s production and PGM / precious metals sampling capabilities.
Resolve operational issues collaboratively with involved departments.
Collaborate with the Business Development team on sourcing new business opportunities.
Build up the Malaysia team operations, including:
- Preparing a recruitment plan, overseeing hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing employees according to company policies.
- Overseeing machinery maintenance, including regular servicing, routine checks, repairs, and parts replacement.
- Ensuring sufficient critical spare parts are available for equipment/machinery.
- Collaborate with the laboratory team on setting up the gold and silver recovery system.
- Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in regulatory compliance with DOSH, DOE, etc.
- Experience in safety management for workplace and operations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Fast learner, attentive to details.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Chinese speaking ability to work with China counterparts and engineering team.
