A leading global logistics company in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced accountant to support Accounting and Controlling for APAC countries. The role involves preparing and posting journals, managing customs duties, and financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of experience. Proficiency in Excel and SAP ERP is required, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

  • Prepare journals and postings in CW1 or SAP ERP.

Purpose of Position

To support Accounting and Controlling for APAC Countries

Key Tasks
  • Prepare journals and do postings in CW1 or SAP ERP.
  • Prepare supporting documents for journals.
  • Upload supporting documents into CW1 or SAP ERP on time.
  • Prepare prepayment schedules, journals, and postings.
  • Prepare ABT files and perform reconciliation.
  • Perform IFRS – Plannon reconciliation.
  • Book payroll, bonus, benefits, and holiday allowances journals.
  • Prepare WIP & ACS files and post journals.
  • Check completeness of the closing according to the monthly checklist and update accordingly.
  • Handle Fixed Asset creations and retirements.
  • Manage Customs Duty Clearing, GST/VAT Clearing.
  • Prepare SAP BPC/EPM reports.
  • Prepare SKF for allocation run.
  • Prepare monthly accounts reconciliation.
  • Review and present Balance Sheet.
  • Follow up on Balance Sheet review action items.
  • Perform monthly intercompany variance reconciliation.
  • Monitor AIF/SM35.
  • Coordinate interface issue resolution with IT and Operations.
  • Support other duties & projects as assigned.
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Professional degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Fluent in spoken & written English.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Good interpersonal and collaborative skills.
