Job summary

Becton Dickinson (BD) is seeking an Operational Technology and Automation professional for our Kedah, Kulim site. You will maintain OT systems, manufacturing automation platforms, and support industrial networks to ensure high availability and compliance with site standards.

Job description

Operational Technology Support

Maintain and support OT systems, industrial networks, and manufacturing automation platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve OT-related equipment, software, and network issues. Develop and execute preventive maintenance strategies for OT assets. Ensure system availability, reliability, and compliance with site standards.

Automation & Control Systems Support

installation, commissioning, and maintenance of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain automation systems utilizing platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron, and Schneider Electric. Manage PLC backups, program revisions, change control, and system recovery activities. Support HMI, SCADA, and machine control applications.

Smart Factory & Digital Manufacturing

Lead and support Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 initiatives across the site. Implement and maintain machine connectivity, data collection, and visualization solutions. Support MES integration, OEE monitoring, production dashboards, and Industrial IoT applications. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing performance through digitalization and automation.

OT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

Support industrial networks and communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC-UA, and MQTT. Collaborate with IT to ensure secure and reliable OT operations. Implement OT cybersecurity controls, system backup strategies, and access management practices. Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, validation requirements, and change management processes.

Project Support

Participate in automation, equipment upgrade, and digital transformation projects. Support system design, testing, commissioning, and documentation activities. Coordinate with equipment suppliers, system integrators, and cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
