Job summary
A leading company in renewable energy is seeking a technician to manage electrical systems in their solar PV plant. This role includes maintenance responsibilities, inspections, and liaising with authorities while maintaining compliance with safety standards. A diploma in Electrical Engineering or a Chargeman certification is essential. The ideal candidate should be proactive and willing to work during emergencies and public holidays.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in operating low voltage electrical equipment.
- Customer-oriented and independent with good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all electrical systems and civil works in the solar PV plant to ensure compliance with regulations and system health.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on solar PV systems, including DC and LV components and connections.
- Address electrical breakdowns related to solar PV systems, perform fault diagnosis, and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain proper documentation and records for all corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
- Supervise and monitor related works performed by appointed contractors.
- Prepare reports for product warranty claims, including inverter, PV module, data logger, etc.
- Provide regular operational reports on electricity production, efficiency, maintenance, outages, inspections, and equipment adjustments.
- Liaise with government authorities (Energy Commission, TNB), electrical consultants, vendors, and contractors on system issues and warranty matters.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and tools.
- Support project execution during and after construction, and other O&M works as instructed.
- Provide full support during emergencies (24 hours), Hari Raya, and public holidays.
- Work hours and days are subject to arrangement by the plant owner.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in operating and controlling low voltage electrical equipment.
- Knowledge and skills in LV wiring and electrical troubleshooting.
- Understanding of electrical theory, regulations, and safety standards.
- Valid Chargeman A0/A1 certificate from Energy Commission or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Customer-oriented, independent, with good interpersonal skills.
- Valid driving license D, willing to relocate to Batu Gajah, Gopeng, or Penang, and able to base in Sitiawan, Perak.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbal and written).
- Physically and mentally fit, able to work on weekends and public holidays if required.
