JS Solar Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Solar PV systems, carry out inspection and troubleshooting of LV electrical systems, and operate inverters and monitoring equipment. You will diagnose faults, inspect PV modules and mounting structures, and ensure compliance with ST regulations and HSE.
The role requires a Chargeman A1 certificate and at least 2 years of experience.
Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) for Solar PV systems in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule.
Carry out inspection, testing and troubleshooting of LV electrical systems, including ACDB, DCDB, combiner boxes, protection devices and associated equipment.
Operate, inspect and maintain solar inverters, transformers, switchboards and monitoring systems.
Perform fault diagnosis and rectify electrical and system-related issues to ensure maximum plant availability.
Conduct routine inspection of PV modules, mounting structures, cable routing and earthing systems.
Perform electrical testing using appropriate instruments such as insulation resistance tester, clamp meter, multimeter and thermal imaging camera.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and restore system operation within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations, company procedures and HSE requirements.
Prepare maintenance reports, inspection checklists and update maintenance records after each service activity.
Report defects, equipment abnormalities and recommend corrective actions to the O&M Engineer or Supervisor.
Support commissioning, performance testing and system improvement activities when required.
Maintain proper housekeeping, tools, test equipment and spare parts inventory at project sites.
Perform any other duties assigned by the O&M Engineer or O&M Assistant Manager.
Possess a valid Chargeman A1 Certificate issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
Minimum 2 years of working experience in electrical maintenance.
Knowledge of LOV electrical systems, switchboards, inverters, transformers, and protection system.
Familiar with electrical safety procedures, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW).
Able to read electrical single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
Willing to work at various project sites throughout Malaysia.
Possess a valid class D driving license.
Able to work independently as well as in a team.
