Leader Energy in Malaysia is seeking an Operation & Maintenance Technician (Solar) to ensure safe, reliable operation of solar PV sites across the country. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, fault troubleshooting, and strict adherence to electrical safety and HSE standards.
You will perform inspections, testing, module cleaning, and data monitoring, document faults, assist in testing and commissioning of new projects, and contribute to spare parts planning and monthly billing under PPA
The Operation & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of solar PV systems across Malaysia sites. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, corrective works, fault troubleshooting, and site inspections to ensure high plant availability and compliance with contractual performance requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Conduct scheduled visual inspections, electrical testing (voltage, current, insulation resistance), and module cleaning to prevent system downtime.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, inverter errors, and mechanical issues in DC/LV systems.
Performance Monitoring: Utilize monitoring software and data loggers to track energy generation against expected yields
Compliance & Reporting: Prepare maintenance, inspection, and warranty reports. Ensure site operations strictly comply with electrical safety regulations and health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards.
Track and document all faults in fault log, ensuring all fault is addressed.
Testing and commissioning and quality checks for newly installed projects.
Propose a list of spare parts and backup equipment required for each project.
Perform monthly electricity billing calculations for customers in accordance with PPA contracts.
Qualification/Requirements:
Diploma in Electrical or mechanical or equivalent is preferred Minimum IKM, IKBN and ILP.
Competent Certification - Wireman PW4 or Chargeman A0
1 to 2 years’ experience in Solar or electrical industry.
Strong knowledge in safety policies and requirements.
Diagnostics and troubleshooting electrical system and solar system failures.
Good in using electrical measurements equipment and tools.
Good in using MS Office is must.
