Job summary

Elsa Energy Sdn Bhd in Malaysia's Pengerang, Johor is seeking an Operation Engineer to oversee daily plant operations, ensure safety, and maintain performance.

You will analyze plant performance, improve processes, and assess equipment reliability, while supporting HSE and MOC procedures. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 5 years of O&G or petrochemical experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily operations and track plant performance to ensure safety, smooth operations and targets.
• Support quality management activities and seek improvements for plant and equipment.
• Coordinate routine equipment checks and basic care (BEC/BOC) to keep machinery in good condition.
• Support health, safety and environment (HSE) programs and help reduce risks.
• Assist with Management of Change (MOC) processes and risk assessments before changes are carried out.
• Contribute to technical training and sharing lessons learned from past experiences.
• Review customer needs to ensure products and deliveries meet expectations.

Position : Operation Engineer

Contract Duration : To Be Confirmed (TBC)

Scope of Works:

• Daily planning and performance: Help plan daily operations and track how the plant is performing, so work stays safe, smooth and on target.
• Quality and reliability: Support quality management activities and look for ways to make the plant and its equipment work better.
• Equipment care: Coordinate routine equipment checks and basic care (BEC and BOC) so machines stay in good working condition.
• Health, safety and environment (HSE): Support safety and environmental programs, and help find and reduce risks.
• Management of Change (MOC): Help make sure any change in the plant is properly assessed for risks and approved before it is carried out.
• Training and sharing: Help with technical training, building skills, and sharing lessons learned from past experiences.
• Customer support: Review what customers need so products and deliveries meet their expectations.

Requirement(s):

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, Industrial or any other engineering discipline).
• At least 5 years of plant operations experience in oil & gas or petrochemical
• Hands-on experience analysing plant performance, improving processes, and assessing equipment reliability
• Good knowledge of plant operation management systems (e.g., OER, POMS)
• Familiar with mechanical and instrumentation systems
• Skilled in root cause analysis, production planning, and closing gaps in performance
