Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking an OT ward nurse to ensure high-quality nursing care in the operating theatre and CSSD. You will prepare rooms, verify gas supplies, and coordinate with ward staff to ensure patients arrive on time for procedures.

You will maintain thorough documentation, identify patients accurately, and support surgeons and anesthetists as needed while upholding patient safety goals and participating in health education and hospital activities.

Qualifications

• Provide holistic patient care using the nursing process.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient folders.
• Collaborate with unit staff to ensure smooth OT and CSSD operations.
• Adhere to patient safety goals and alert surgeons/allied staff as needed.
• Escort patients and prepare equipment for procedures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to nursing care vision and shift duties as assigned by Unit Manager.
• Notify Unit Manager of changes impacting care standards.
• Collaborate to ensure smooth OT and CSSD daily operation.
• Prepare OT readiness and verify gas supply and trolleys.
• Coordinate patient arrival, optimize OT utilization.
• Identify patients accurately and refer to surgeon/anesthetist when needed.
• Record cases in the OT Register and ensure proper specimen labeling.
• Provide emotional support and assist in procedures as required.
• Execute doctor orders and communicate with all teams to ensure satisfaction.
• Participate in health education and hospital activities.
